Why German as a favourite language?  Here a few reasons:

• German is the second most important language in science. A basic knowledge of German is an advantage for many fields of research.
• 100 million people in Austria, Switzerland and Germany speak German. These countries have strong economies and a job market that needs qualified workers for well paid jobs.
• English is the Volkswagen of languages, German the Porsche.
